Media plays an important role in society. It not only informs but provides a framework for interpretation, informs citizens with various issues and talks about gender and society. Media monitoring is an important part while promoting gender equality in the working environment and also in representation of gender. The transformative role media can play in achieving gender equality in society is to create gender-sensitivity and gender-transformative content, by breaking stereotypes. The core objective of the conference is to explore the traditional social and cultural norms and attitudes regarding gender perceptions both in content and perspectives. The conference call for papers for the below mentioned themes.
About the Organisers
ST PAULS COLLEGE, Bengaluru is one of the educational undertakings of the Society of St Paul, an international Catholic institution founded by Blessed James Alberione in Alba, Italy on 20 August 1914, and is currently present in 32 countries across the globe. It is affiliated to Bangalore University and is recognized by the government of Karnataka. The college is located at Nagasandra near Peenya Industrial Area, Bengaluru and is easily accessible by road and Namma Metro services.
The Department of Communication, Bangalore University has been striving diligently to build leadership in the area of communications through scientific research and quality education to build harmonious relations, peace, progress and prosperity for a global society for the last 48 years.
The Department of Communication at Bangalore University was established in 1973 by Dr. H. Narasimaiah, then Vice-Chancellor of the University. Dr. E K Eapen, an expert in the field of Communication was invited to head the Department of Communication. A galaxy of eminent journalists, communication experts and academicians were involved in the initial stages of the development of the department. The department was the first to recognise the growth of Television in India and developed CCTV facilities and trained the students in the production of television and radio programs.
The department is currently headed by Prof. Dr. B K Ravi, Chairman and Former Registrar of Bangalore University, Jnanabharathi Campus. The department offers courses with specialisations in Journalism and Mass Communication, Media Studies & Public Relations and Advertising and strives to pursue academic excellence in all its endeavours.

The organizers will be bringing out an ISBN book which is a compilation of a few exceptional papers presented in the conference. The book will also contain articles from experts and presenters attending the conference. I the paper is selected for publication, a nominal fee has to be paid by the participant in addition to the registration fee, for covering publication costs. This book will be published through a renowned book publishing company.
