Women Empowerment Cell

The Women Empowerment Cell is established to empower female students and faculty to enhance their understanding of issues related to women and to make the campus a safe place for them to study, work and achieve their goals. The Cell takes up women’s issues and problems and aims to create awareness about their rights and duties through guest lectures, seminars, awareness programmes and different welfare activities. It’s a platform for them to share their experiences and views regarding their status in the society. The cell also trains women to acquire wide range of skills and knowledge to develop their social, economic and intellectual capacities.

Objectives:

  • To help women to become aware of the importance of good health, nutrition, hygiene and the facilities available to them
  • To make women aware of their rights, and help them stand against all kinds of discrimination and exploitation in the society
  • To help them in character building, develop decision making abilities, leadership skills and be self-dependent
  • To create awareness about different social problems faced by women and to empower them
  • To help them develop a holistic, integrated and a well-balanced personality

Activities:

  • Women’s Day celebration on 8th March
  • Women Empowerment Week with lot of activities for women
  • Invite medical practitioners and doctors to deliver lectures on various health related issues
  • Talks by lawyers to create awareness on various legal issues of women and how to address them
  • Share information about NGOs and Govt. Organizations working for the upliftment of women
